This medium is an improvement on Eagle basal medium. It is based on MEM and supplemented with seven non-essential amino acids (NEAAs): L-alanine, L-glutamic acid, L-threonine, L-valine, L-proline, L-serine, and glycine. This formulation reduces the metabolic burden associated with the endogenous synthesis of NEAA, thereby effectively promoting cell proliferation and metabolism.
