Basic Fibroblast Growth Factor (also known as bFGF, FGF2 or FGF-β) is a member of the fibroblast growth factor family. It is a single-chain polypeptide growth factor that plays a significant role in promoting cell proliferation, inhibiting cell apoptosis, accelerating wound healing and inducing angiogenesis. It is also a potent inducer of DNA synthesis in various cell types derived from mesoderm and neuroectoderm lineages.
WISENT bFGF, with a molecular weight of 17 kDa, is produced via recombinant gene expression in rice endosperm cells and purified through a rigorous protein purification process.
