Leukemia Inhibitory Factor (LIF) is a lymphoid factor that promotes long-term maintenance of embryonic stem cells by suppressing spontaneous differentiation. LIF has various functions, including cholinergic neuron differentiation, control of stem cell pluripotency, regulation of bone-fat metabolism, mitogenesis of factor-dependent cell lines, and enhancing megakaryocyte production in vivo. WISENT LIF, produced in E. coli, is of high purity ( ≥95%, SDS-PAGE ) and high quality, undergoing endotoxin testing and sterile filtration. The high-purity LIF can be directly used in stem cell culture to maintain embryonic stem cells by suppressing their differentiation.
