Glycine is widely used in the preparation of gelatin composite scaffolds. It is applied in elution buffers for protein purification using HiTrap Protein G columns. It is also used in SDS‑PAGE (sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis), and for preparing SDS samples, electrophoresis buffers and transfer buffers in Western blotting.
