BSA is Bovine Serum Albumin. WISENT BSA is prepared from high-quality bovine plasma, with a molecular weight of approximately 66 kDa, CAS NO. 9048-46-8, purity ＞98%, and low endotoxin.
Applications:
l Immunological assays: Used in enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), Western Blot and immunohistochemistry. As a blocking reagent, it is particularly suitable for casein sensitive antibodies such as phospho specific antibodies.
l Protein related applications: Suitable for restriction enzyme digestion buffers, and used as protein standard, diluent and enzyme stabilizer. 20% BSA solution can be applied for coating and protein supplementation in various experimental scenarios.
l Cell and microbial culture: Serves as a nutritional component for cell and microbial culture, especially for serum free media systems.
Preparation Instructions:
Albumins are readily soluble in water and can only be precipitated by high concentrations of neutrals salts such as ammonium sulfate.The solution stability of BSA is very good (especially if the solutions are stored as frozen aliquots).Albumins are frequently used as stabilizers for other solubilized proteins.However, albumin is readily coagulated by heat (50ºC or above). It forms aggregates which do not revert.
