Medium-quality fetal bovine serum (FBS) is derived from cattle raised on high-quality pastures in South America. Blood is collected via cardiac puncture of unborn bovine fetuses, followed by centrifugation and three 0.1-μm filtration steps. It is subjected to comprehensive quality testing, including BVDV (Bovine Viral Diarrhea Virus) and a panel of viral tests, mycoplasma screening, endotoxin detection, performance evaluation, and biochemical analysis. This grade of serum contains growth factors essential for embryonic development and has low immunoglobulin levels.
